About the Developer
Born in Germany of German parents, Robert Roesch is a local business owner & fan of the Wildcats of Kentucky.
As an amateur videographer in his teens and later having shot video professionally for equestrian events across the northeastern United States, Robert caught the journalistic bug when in the late 1990's, March Madness student riots were common in Lexington.
Having carried his personal video camera for years and his eventual inclusion as a Director at YouTube, the door opened for him to finally post his videos with content of interest to Kentuckians.
Focused on people and real life situations, Robert has managed to capture charming, unusual and sometimes absurd videos of Kentuckians being themselves. Robert (a.k.a PingPanther) often reminds his fans and viewers that he doesn't create the situations that he records -- he merely reports them.
Working as a successful marketer for Domino's Pizza in the early to mid 80's, coupled with Robert's experience with the Internet and his natural affinity for computer code, he has conceived and developed the free speech server Video Free Lexington.
Robert's knowledge of science and nature is extensive, having attended both the University of Kentucky's pre-vet and natural resource conservation & management programs.
Including his work with birds of prey in the late 80's and water ecology throughout the 90's, over the years Robert has contributed thousands of volunteer & paid professional hours to environmental and other community concerns.
With the launch date for Video Free Lexington now set for early 2010, Robert has pledged to apply common-sense practical solutions to this program and to keep the BLUEsyndicate affordable for even the smallest of Lexington area businesses.
